Alto Engages Manager of Corporate Communications

 Vancouver, B.C. May 16, 2006. Alto Ventures Ltd. (ATV: TSX-V) is pleased to announce that it has retained the professional (consulting) services of Timea Carlsen as Manager of Corporate Communications. Ms. Carlsen will assist in facilitating increased awareness to current shareholders and potential investors through the dissemination of corporate information to a network of institutions, retail brokerage firms and private investors in Canada and Europe.

Timea has been in the financial industry for approximately 12 years. Her previous experience includes working as a Registered Representative at Canaccord Capital in Vancouver as well as Yorkton Securities in Toronto. In 2002, Timea left the brokerage industry to work as a consultant to public companies in the resource sector, providing administrative, corporate communications and investor relations services.

Alto also announces that, pursuant to the Company's stock option plan, it will grant Timea Carlsen incentive stock options to purchase up to an aggregate of 150,000 common shares exercisable on or before May 16, 2011 at a price of $0.18.
