History

Gold was discovered by prospectors in 1929. The Dog Lake Property was subsequently acquired by Cominco Ltd. and intermittently explored by trenching and drilling from 1931 to 1947. Geophysical surveys, geological mapping, trenching and diamond drilling programs were also completed in 1986-1987. Results from trenching have delineated a gold bearing quartz vein 34 m long by 3 m thick with an average grade of 0.19 oz/ton (6.5 g/t) gold.

Prospecting and sampling by Alto in 2005 has relocated the gold bearing quartz vein and placed it in a shear zone that is locally up to 25 m wide and 1.5 km long. Assay results from the Alto sampling include 26.8 g/t gold in a grab sample.
