History Evidence on the ground indicates that prospecting and trenching may date back to the 1930's although the first documented larger program was carried out by Freewest Resources from 1990 to 1992. Their work included mechanical trenching, geological mapping and sampling and identified sheared and gold-bearing iron formation. This unit was traced for over 200 m on surface and returned up to 61.5 g/t gold in grab samples and 4.5 g/t gold across 0.3 m in saw-cut channel samples. Work by Alto in 2007 included prospecting which traced the zone for over 400 m on surface and sampling that returned up to 15.5 g/t gold in grab samples.2008 Exploration The 2008 summer program included high resolution magnetometer and XDS/VLF EM airborne surveys, line cutting, prospecting, mechanical stripping, washing, sampling and mapping. Mechanical stripping was followed by geological mapping and channel sampling at the Golden Link Trench, a 500 m long corridor of anomalous gold mineralization and quartz veining. Six holes completed in October were the first to test sections of the Golden Link Trench. Three holes intersected highly anomalous gold including 2.34 g/t gold across 0.75 m in TT08-01, 2.4 g/t gold across 1.1 m in TT08-04, and 2.48 g/t gold across 0.5 m in TT08-06. Results from the drilling are particularly significant as they confirm the gold mineralization exposed on surface does extend to a depth of at least 100 m.2009 Exploration Program Mineralization is open along strike and to depth and additional drilling is required. The company is currently compiling all the data to further test this corridor and select future drill targets. |
