History

Evidence on the ground indicates that prospecting and trenching may date back to the 1930's although the first documented larger program was carried out by Freewest Resources from 1990 to 1992. Their work included mechanical trenching, geological mapping and sampling and identified sheared and gold-bearing iron formation. This unit was traced for over 200 m on surface and returned up to 61.5 g/t gold in grab samples and 4.5 g/t gold across 0.3 m in saw-cut channel samples.

Work by Alto in 2007 included prospecting which traced the zone for over 400 m on surface and sampling that returned up to 15.5 g/t gold in grab samples.

2008 Exploration Programs

Planned work for the 2008 summer includes prospecting, mechanical trenching and sampling. This will be followed by diamond drilling.
